bwm-ng software package provides small and simple console-based bandwidth monitor, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bwm-ng
bwm-ng is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bwm-ng package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bwm-ng *
You will get with bwm-ng package name, version, architecture and description in a table
